October 27, 2025 - Amelia Wyatt (9)
It’s been a week since the Homecoming winners were announced, and we couldn’t be prouder of them. But how well do you really know the winners? Some people may have just picked someone to vote for and moved on. But who are the people behind the crowns? I interviewed all the winners and am excited to share my learning.
It is a big accomplishment to win homecoming court. 16 people (four people per grade) apply. The students vote for one of the members, and the top four representatives for each grade go on to the next round. A week later, there is a new vote, and one of the four candidates is picked to represent their grade. Only students from their respective grade levels can vote. After getting to know the representatives through the interview, I can tell you that the winners are very kind and likable people, a testament to why they won. It takes a lot of courage and bravery to run for homecoming court and get in front of the entire school during a football game. Now, let me introduce you to the underclassman representatives.
Freshman winner: Madison Lewis
Madison “Maddie” Lewis is the homecoming princess for the freshman class of 2029. A fun fact about Maddie is that she has a pet hamster named Brownie. Madison loves music, especially Jazz; her favorite artist is Ella Fitzgerald. The reason Madison wanted to run for Homecoming court was that she wanted to step out of her comfort zone; she wants to run for president of clubs in the future. Some of Madison's hobbies are playing bass, doing art, and running. Madison is so grateful for the win and thanks all of the people who voted for her.

Sophomore winner: Luke Williams
Luke Williams is the winning homecoming prince for the sophomore class. Luke loves to swim and he has been swimming for almost 12 years. A fun fact about Luke is that his favorite animal is a capybara. Luke's favorite movie genre is Murder Mystery. The reason Luke wanted to run for homecoming court was because he really loves the student body, and he loves helping out the school. Luke is so happy that he won, and he hopes that all of the people who voted for him are happy as well.
Devin Varriale (11) standing by his father after the game.
Junior winner: Devin Varriale
This is Devin Varriale, who won homecoming king for the junior class. Devin loves live music and will go to any concert, no matter the genre. Devin is not a very sporty person, but he does love to watch basketball. A fun fact about Devin is that his favorite genre of music is Pop. Some of Devin's favorite things to do are listen to music and take walks. The reason Devin wanted to run for homecoming court was that he loves homecoming and wanted to get more people to go. Devin is so happy that he won and hopes that everyone had a wonderful time at homecoming.
All the winners loved the opportunities to show their school spirit and help people become more involved with the school. They hope everyone had so much fun at Homecoming, and they appreciated the votes.
